Book Review- Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy
It is no secret that I am a football fan. I've been a fan of the Colts for several years. I like Peyton Manning. No one on my immediate family shares my support of the Colts, so I've been pretty wishy washy about my support. I always liked Tony Dungy though- especially when I saw him through the Super Bowl they were in a few years ago.
This memoir of his life was very good. Tony's testimony is powerful. He constantly comes back to the saving and redeeming work of Christ in his life. He shares how God led him through his choices to play football and later coach for the NFL. He shares God's leading in his family and how God brought them through tragedy when his oldest son took his own life. Unlike some celebrity figures, he attempts to make this book more about God and what God has done for him than about his successes in life.
I definitely liked this one! I had to return it to my dad from whom I had borrowed it, but I want to get it again for Charles, my little football fanatic, to read.
