I have been a member of SparkPeople for almost a year now. Sparkpeople is a website designed to help people live more healthy, active lives. Whether you need to lose weight, become more active, or just find support to live a healthier life, Sparkpeople has much to offer.
In January The Spark was published. The Spark was written by the originator of Sparkpeople- Chris Downie. In the book, he details his own journey and how he came to start Sparkpeople. He also outlines step by step the methods that Sparkpeople uses to help people lose weight and live more healthy lives. The book has a four step plan (which can also be found on the Sparkpeople website), meal plans, exercise plans, ideas for motivation and much more.
I am a big fan of Sparkpeople. I never really needed to lose weight, but I did need encouragement to think about what I ate and to eat more healthily. I also needed the motivation to live a more active lifestlye. I think the motivation and encouragement that Sparkpeople offers is very important. The Spark is a good accompaniment to the website with its free membership.
