The Bridge of Peace- Cindy Woodsmall
The Bridge of Peace is a novel in the Ada's House series by Cindy Woodsmall. I have not read the other (first) novel in the series, but I had the opportunity to read and review this one.
Lena Kauffman is an Amish schoolteacher who is having troubles with her classroom and the school board. Grey Graber is struggling in a troubled and loveless marriage. Deborah is grieving over the desertion of the man she thought she loved. Cara is struggling to give up her English ways and become Amish for the man she loves. All of these story threads are running through this novel.
I was a little confused because I hadn't read the first book in the series. All the different story lines were also a bit distracting. For quite a while, it seemed as if there was no "main plot" just lots of little plots running along. I'm not necessarily a big fan of Amish romances anyway, so it should come as no surprise that this one didn't grab my interest. It did have some interesting characters and a few sweet romance stories all going on at once. And, if the series were read as a whole, I think the stories might be a little more clear.
I received a free copy of this book from Waterbrook/Multanomah Press in exchange for a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
