Springtime of the Spirit- Maureen Lang
Set in Germany at the end of World War 1, Springtime of the Spirit follows the lives of Christophe Brecht and Annaliesse Duray as they make their way through the political minefield in Germany at the end of the war. They were childhood friends, but now Christophe, a soldier, is home and war weary. Annaliesse has turned against her wealthy family to promote the ways of socialism. When Christophe is asked by Anneliesse's parents to bring their daughter home, will he be able to persuade her to return- to her family, her faith, and her belief system?
This is the second book that I have read from Lang's Great War series. The characters are interesting. I enjoyed the combination of historical fiction and romance. The story line is a bit predictable. But, the book is very readable and did not disappoint.
I received a copy of this book from Tyndale in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.
