The Inconvenient Marriage of Charlotte Beck by Kathleen Y'Barbo
Charlotte Beck is mischievous and often a trouble maker. She is determined and opinionated. She certainly doesn't fit the mold for a young lady at the end of the 19th century. When she meets Alex Hambly, a British royal, she considers him an annoyance as he does her. But when circumstances continually bring them together, they will both learn to see God's hand as they grow closer to Him and to each other.
I thought this was a charming and sweet historical Christian romance. Reminiscent of The Taming of the Shrew, the relationship between Charlotte and Alex was always interesting. I loved Charlotte as a heroine, and Alex made a great hero. Their relationship with each other and with God was dynamic and made for entertaining reading. There was nothing deep and thoughtful here, but I thoroughly enjoyed this light, easy read.
