Shadows on the Sand- Gayle Roper
Carrie Carter runs a restaurant in the small beach town of Seaside. She is in love with a man who doesn't notice her and is hiding from the bitterness she feels toward her mother that she and her sister ran from long ago. Into her life comes a mystery involving a young employee at the restaurant. As Carrie may be beginning a relationship with the man of her dreams and may also be facing the return of her mother to her life, she becomes a part of the mystery swirling around her.
This Christian fiction/romance/suspense had all of the earmarks of a really good read. I found myself wondering what Carrie and the others were doing when I was away from the story, and I found myself sad to see it end because I wanted to know more about these delightful characters and their small town. This book was sweet without being sappy, suspenseful without being dark, and inspiring without being preachy. I would definitely give this five stars for a good read!
