Code Triage by Candace Calvert

Code Triage was another pleasantly surprising free Kindle read.  I'm a fan of romantic suspense and typically like books about people in "hero" professions.  Code Triage was a good fit.

Leigh and her husband Nick have been separated for almost a year, and their divorce is almost final.  Leigh, a doctor, and Nick, a police officer, are thrown together along with Nick's one time fling, a Child Crisis worker.  Nick and Leigh struggle to find their footing in their failed relationship as each is learning more about trusting God's plan for their lives.

It was a nice blend of suspense and romance, Christian, but not preachy.I was a little frustrated by the back and forth of Nick and Leigh's inner turmoil about their relationship and especially by the conniving of Sam, the "other woman."  But, it really did help me, the reader, to understand the complexity of their relationship.  And in truth, how many relationships do end because the couple cannot communicate their inner pain to each other?  So, it was realistic.  I loved the way the plot developed, and my daughter caught me sniffling at the end- a sure sign of a really good read.

I give this one a 5 star rating and a PG13 for content.  (I noticed that the other two books in this series were free reads for Amazon Prime members, so I plan to check them out!)
