Two Crosses by Elizabeth Musser

Once again a free Kindle read has brought me to a series I just have to finish.

Set in the 1950s in France, Two Crosses is the first in a series about the effects of the Algerian War.  Gabriella is the daughter of missionaries and has come to France to study.  She is taken by the handsome American professor at St. Josephs where she is studying, but she soon finds herself involved in a mission to save refugee children from Algeria.

Two Crosses is a really good read.  I love historical fiction, especially that set around World War 2.  The characters in this read were very compelling and the story line kept me reading and reading to see what would happen.  Unfortunately the ending is very suspenseful.  I now have to find the other two books to finish out the series.
