Abel's Field DVD- Review and GIVEAWAY

As a mom, I'm always glad to see movies that are family friendly and that have a Christian worldview.

Abel's Field is the story of Seth, a high school student whose mother is dead and whose father has abandoned he and his little sisters.  Seth is trying hard to keep their family together.  When he ends up being punished by being made to work on installing a new sprinkler system in the school football field, he meets Abel, an unusual, reclusive maintenance man.  As Seth struggles with doing the right thing and trusting God to help him with his ever mounting problems, Abel becomes a man on whom Seth can rely, but there may be more to Abel, and Seth has to make a critical decision with a big impact.

The movie was a little slow to get started.  I was concerned that this was going to be a movie with good intentions but with poor execution.  But as I watched more, I enjoyed the story more and more.  The story and characters were interesting, and I found myself really drawn in.  There was action, drama, a little intrigue and a good life lesson throughout the movie.

I intend to let my kids watch, but the movie is rated PG and there are a few elements- fighting, a few bar scenes, and some more adult subject matter.  So if you are planning to make it a family movie, you may want to view it first.

You can read more about the movie and watch the trailer at the Abel's Field website.  You can also like the Facebook page for more information.
