The Secret Gospel of Ireland by James Behan and Leo Behan

Leah Courtney

I love history. I love to read a good history book. I'm also very interested in the history of Scotland and Ireland. So I was thrilled to pick up The Secret Gospel of Ireland to review.

The authors trace the history of Ireland, reaching all the back to the time of Saint Augustine. They look at the development of Ireland, the growth of Christianity,  and the contribution of Ireland's culture to Western civilization.

I thoroughly enjoyed this history read. It read like a conversation instead of a textbook. The style of writing made it very interesting, and I found myself really looking forward to reading more.

The book also seemed very complete. The authors went far back into the history of Ireland to record the coming of Christianity and the impact that Ireland's culture was to have on Western civilization.

You can read more about the book here.

I give this one 5 nonfiction stars.
