Then Sings My Soul is a beautiful and touching Christian fiction novel. There is a touch of historical fiction through the memories of Nel's father, and there is a bit of romance as well. Although I sometimes don't like the use of flashbacks as story development, they are very well done here and really add to the story. The characters in the story are well-developed and compelling. And the story itself had me hooked from the beginning.
Because it's a Christian fiction book I'll mention this: There is a bit of information at the beginning about Nel's past affairs. There isn't any real detail, but there is definitely some elaboration. I didn't find it inappropriate at all, and it certainly wasn't glorified. But I'll mention it in case it would be bothersome to some readers.
I give Then Sings My Soul 5 stars and a PG for content.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
When she’s not reading or writing, Amy loves spending time with her three sons; spicy lunches and art gallery walks with her husband; digging in her garden sans gloves; walking her dogs; up-cycling old furniture and junk; photography; and friends.
