As a long time lover of all things Narnia, I was very excited by Advent in Narnia by Heidi Haverkamp. The book is an Advent guide that uses the symbolism of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to talk about the season of Advent. It can be used by individuals, families, or church groups.

Review of Advent of Narnia, a devotional featuring The Chronicles of Narnia
The book has twenty-eight devotional readings. Each begins with Scripture. Then the author takes something from the story and uses it to discuss Advent and the looking forward to Christ, as well as what Christ has done for us. She includes symbols such as the wardrobe, the lamppost, Mr. Tumnus, the professor, and more. At the end of each day's reading are a few questions for discussion. At the end of the book are instructions for using it as a church small group study and ideas for providing a family Narnia night for your church.

I really enjoyed Advent in Narnia. I've loved the way the author uses the symbols from the book. I think C.S. Lewis has provided so many rich, deep, thoughtful elements to the Narnia books, and I love it when other authors use those well to discuss and ponder the Christian faith. And what better way to use The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe which begins in a land where it is always winter but never Christmas, than in Advent readings.

This is one I can definitely recommend. Get it now, and finish out the season with it, or plan ahead for next year. You can find the book on Amazon here.
