Claire is two years past the death of her army husband and is dealing with her father's stroke and her son's withdrawal after bullying at school when Tanner literally crashes back into her life, hitting her truck when she runs a red light. Tanner was her sweetheart ten years ago, but he left her to be in the rodeo.
Tanner is now trying to help her father save their ranch, something Claire thinks is impossible. She's also trying to avoid getting close to him for fear that he might leave again. As Tanner works to save the ranch and Claire struggles with all of her fears about her father, her son, and the ranch, she and Tanner begin to grow close again.
The story line is pretty simplistic one and a pretty typical one. But the characters are interesting and kept me reading. There is pretty good character development- especially given the fact that it isn't a very deep and meaty book.
There were times that things were a little predictable or times that things seemed a little choppy, but all in all it was a good story and a sweet romance. It was also a clean romance.
I give this one 3.5 stars and a PG rating. You can find the book on Amazon here.
